This chapter takes place when Jenna and Mrs. Gladstone are in St. Lois. While they were over there Mrs. Gladstones hip starts to hurt more than ever before. In fact this gets so serious that she has to take a wheel chair. Jenna calls Harry Bender to ask for advice of what she should do when Elden comes to talk to Mrs. Gladstone. When Elden comes to visit Mrs. Gladstone Jenna asked Mrs. Gladstone to always smile, even when Elden talks about selling the shoe company. And when Elden said that Mrs. Gladstone lost her patience and recited her entire history of starting the shoe business. And when Mrs. Gladstone said that, Elden said, "Mom right now I can't talk to you right now" and left saying that he would come to visit her again when she reaches Texas. Mrs. Gladstone was very angry at Elden for saying this.
After all this was done Jenna is forced to think about her Dad because Elden reminds her of her dad. She sees herself young and playing with her toys when the phone rings. Her dad makes her pick it up and asks her to say that he is not there at home. And this is where the chapter finishes.

This chapter is important to the story because we are in the body of this story and if we do not include this chapter then there will be a huge jump and no one will get the story. And won't even be fun anymore to read this book.
